VINCIARTE is a brand owned by Vito Vinci, passionate about art, culture and surroundings…
Vito Vinci is curious, intruded in art and eager to promote it, comunicate it, transfer it, and, maybe, build around it a thought, an orientation, an alternative…
Vito Vinci was born on January 6, 1960 in Fasano, sea/countryside. Countryside/sea.
His childhood flowed as in all the towns of the province, he liked to play, browse, observe and think.
In 1978 he graduated in a commercial technical institute, but his passions were music, philosophy, football and chess. A heterogeneous and confused whole.
At the age of 19 he enrolled at the faculty of foreign languages and literature and successfully promoted English courses on behalf of the Encyclopaedia Britannica.
He wasted his first earnings in the Dea of ’67 (car celebrated in a 2000’s movie directed by Clara Law in Japan/Australia) the famous Citroen Pallas with automatic clutch and hydraulic suspension drived by the legendary Ginko (a smart inspector who will never be able to catch Diabolik).
Later he would have taken cure of CIBO… of Foodies, as you would say now, but also of leisure and hospitality.
In the 80s he promoted in Puglia c/o the prestigious catering and quality hotels food products never seen before:
The Bresaola of Val Chiavenna, the eel of the valleys of Comacchio, the Friulian cooked ham in the bread crust, the capers of Pantelleria and much more and after the first VIP Expo at the Milan food fair, I Vini di Braida (a nice friendship with Raffaella Bologna) and the Tocai Friulano (which would have no longer be called that).
After then, he was for a short period in the business services activity: management costs control, reclassification of financial statements, production times and methods and quality systems;
In 1998 he was catapulted into the fascinating world of art where he has been living until now with boundless passion and enthusiasm.
He started working with SANZANOBI Art’e’ and immediately came into contact with world-class artists like Aligi Sassu and Ugo Attardi and he started considering the works of Salvatore Fiume, recently passed away .
In 2002 he took part at the inauguration of the prestigious TA MATETE Gallery in via Garibaldi in Milan in the heart of Brera, with special guests Bruno Vespa and Flavio Caroli, well-known art historian who took care of the catalog of the Inaugural exhibition: Memoria and Nostalgia.
Vinci promoted with great involvement the artists attendant in the show, including:
Carlo Ravaioli, Stefano Tonelli, Franco Dugo, Graziella Da Gioz, Paolo del Giudice, Alfonso and Nicola Vaccari
Fernando De Filippi (director of the Academy of Brera) and Ugo Nespolo
who patented the new technique of “Soft Painting” for the occasion (new because of the different quality of the acrylics and for the support used).
At the same time Vito Vinci was very careful in raising its customers awareness of observing new trends such as the revival of legendary Artist Books (like Renaissance style art books or ” Livres de peintre ” French tradition of ‘800).
Of particular relevance were “Il Decamerone” illustrated by Elvio Marchionni, “Il Milione di Marco Polo” illustrated by Franco Dugo, presented in the beautiful room of the Caryatids at the Palazzo Reale in Milan and the “Cantico dei Cantici” illustrated by Ugo Nespolo, presented at the Teatro Vittoria in Turin , with the introduction of Edoardo Sanguineti and the actress Piera Degli Esposti, who read some passages.
In this period he was hosted by Ugo Nespolo at his loft (home studio) in Turin, talking pleasantly with the master about the climate experienced in the 60s and about his friendships with heavyweights of alternative American cinema as Peter Bogdanovich .
He also visited the maestro Mario Ceroli in his mega villa in Rome on the Ardeatina with a monumental carpentry, where the artist created his masterpieces of poor art.
He loved to call himself a simple carpenter…
At that moment Mario Ceroli released the famous Toro made in lost wax casting from a model made of multiple strips of wood.
A similar work (a caparisoned horse, 2 meters high ) is located in the center of Bari, donated to the city, from Banca Popolare di Bari.
Many of Vinci’s clients have appreciated Ceroli’s works over time, passionately recommended by the same Vinci.
In those years until to 2009, his activity continued successfully, also attending numerous courses
of communication and team play, in order to improve his already well-established attitudes to management, recruitment and training of new adepts and collaborators to spread the complex world of artistic and cultural production on a large scale.
The summit of these collaborations is realized with important institutional meetings, from Timothy Verdon (artistic director of the Vatican museums) who curated several sacred art editions, to Luis Godart (artistic director of the Presidency of the Republic).
He met the then President of the Republic Azeglio Ciampi who congratulated him on the realization and presentation of a beautiful photographic volume about the Palazzo del Quirinale.
He attended, with pleasure, the homage of a wonderful photographic handcrafted volume of Michelangelo, to the participants of the G8 in L’Aquila in June 2009 (including Barack Obama and Angela Merkel).
His last appearance in this very intense period it’s dated back to the beginning of 2010, when, during an exciting presentation of the volume “Imago Christi” (“I discorsi della Montagna” illustrated by Nicola Samori) at the Auditorium of Rome, he took part to a tightened dialectical meeting between Monsignor Francesco Forte and Rabbi Jacob Neusner after listening to selected passages read by the actor Nicola Zingaretti.
Even today he meets private collectors and families who are grateful to him for having induced them to acquire such prestigious and fascinating art volumes with deep and well-treated contents that represent a truly unique piece of history.
Then Vito Vinci became interested in the medals, especially in arts overstriking of the liras of the republic and of the kingdom, besides the magnificent coins of the restoration by the Bureau of Engraving and Printing.
The history that crosses the movement of money and the value of the metal and craftsmanship.
But he was also committed to make known to a wide audience Fac-Simile Art (high quality and faithfulness playback of the rich and ancient illuminated manuscripts), reviving the glories of the legendary roman gallery of the 60s, located in Via del Corso, the Editalia … specialized in craft books and geographical maps.
In this period he successfully measured himself with books such as “Il codice di medicina e farmacia di Federico , “Il libro d’ore” by Jean Bourdichon and “Le fiabe di Esopo”.
To then continue again through the Artcodex of Castelvetro, spreading wonders such as “Virgilio Riccardiano” and “I Trionfi” of Petrarca.
Still during his collaboration with “The Institute of the Italian Encyclopedia” he contributed to the acquisition by many families and fans of titles such as “Notitia dignitatum” and “The Divine Comedy Egerton” both kept at the Bodlean Library in Oxford.
More recently he returned to take care of contemporary art and promoted to his clients the catalog of works by Ciro Palumbo (well-known Turin artist) from a prestigious exhibition at the gallery of the metropolitan city of Bari in September 2016 entitled “Il volo del poeta visionario”, accompanied by the verses of the poet Aldo Nove.During the transfer of power in the Vatican museums from Antonio Paulucci to Barbara Jatta (a native of Ruvo di Puglia) they were released, from the editions of the Vatican museums, three beautiful very high definition photographic volumes of the whole Sistine Chapel, immediately after the conclusion of the last restoration, occurred in 2016.
Vito Vinci presented this marvelous work in a river conference at ArtePadova in November 2017, in front of a parterre of hundreds of people. He successfully selled many copies of it, mainly in Northern Italy and invited buyers to a beautiful event behind closed doors at the Sistine Chapel in Rome. It will remain a pleasant memory, indelible both for him and for his friends customers who will continue to follow him with interest and loyalty to the conquest of new discoveries of art and culture.
While coming back to take care of wonderful illuminated codes such as the discovery
of a rare Divine Comedy of 1340 at the Angelica library in Rome and an aluminizing medieval Bible from the National Library of Vienna. He continued with the promotion of contemporary artists and felt in love with the abstract art of Sandra Bertocco , a talented artist from the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice, influenced by the great teaching of Emilio Vedova and now the full professor of painting and drawing at the mythic “Selvatico” of Padua, from which future talents are born.
He presented her officially to the general public in a very popular and contagious solo exhibitio at the Artefiera of Vicenza in March 2018 entitled “La pittura è morta viva la pittura” and then successfully repeated at the eighth review of Ca ‘dei Carraresi in Treviso (promoted by Daniel Buso and Elena Zannoni) in September 2018. Also here with the title “L’eclatante! Quali colori?” intrigues and attracts many art lovers attended the event. Numerous events will take place in 2019, beginning with the Artefiera of Cremona, where the brand VINCIARTE will still be present with a solo exhibition by the artist Sandra Bertocco .
And then still devote himself to the fascinating world of medals, miniatures and much more.
